I ripped out Gibson's appalling wiring job, I was experiencing hum every time my hands were off the strings or hardware, Anderton's in Guildford where I purchased the guitar repeatedly told me a degree of hum is acceptable so I ignored it.

This guy at Anderton's sounds like what I would call a 'bullsh*t artist' ... a guitar that hums is not grounded properly, or has single coil pickups that generate a specific sort of hum that does not go when you touch the strings

Glad to hear you sorted it out.

glad you liked the diver
can't wait to play my third holy diver on a custom lp-type guitar I've been waiting for months
that was my favorite pickup for years, until I fell in love with the riff raff

funny thing is that Kelliher recorded the last album with a holy diver in his cream '78 les paul custom than ditched it for the dissonant aggressors on tour
