Ibanez SC-420

Anyone familiar with this model of guitar?  My cousin has one but is not pleased with the sound.

His taste would C-bomb / Miracle Man territory I would think.  Loves Slayer etc

Any recommendations?  From what I can tell it is mahogany body, rosewood board, maple bolt-on neck, gotoh hardware (wraptail), MIJ

painkiller = instant slayer

but pretty much every ceramic bkp should sound good enough

The Ibanez stockpickups are usually nothing to rave about, so any ceramic BKP will be an improvement.

Yeah I am thinking either Painkiller or C-Bomb set would suit him best

Ibanez stocks are the worst I have had to date. Mushy mess galore. Thus I second the idea of C-bomb or Painkiller, gravitating towards the later. Deadly, deadly chugs and insane tracking. Will be night and day compared to the stock...heck night and day does not do it justice.
