Juggernaut vs. Nailbomb
« on: June 11, 2017, 06:09:39 PM »
So, I'm looking for a bridge pickup to put in mayones duvell. This one is tuned to drop C.

I have experiance with aftermath (to dry and bright, makes it sound too thin)., and with black hawk (a little too much bass for me, but I prefer it to aftermath).

Since I can't find any good clips comparing these two, does anyone have experiance with both? I was mainly looking at C-bomb rather than A-bomb. Which one has more low end? I've heard that juggs have really huge low end, so not sure there. I want something that sounds full but really well defined (fullness of black hawk and precision of aftermath. I guess jugg is tighter than C-bomb?
Aftermath (bridge), alnico Black hawk (set), holydiver (set)

My personal opinion on the Nailbomb, is that works in Les Paul type guitars, mahogany body and neck with set neck. I had a C Bomb in a Ibanez J Custom and it was very thin sounding. My Les Paul with A Bomb is perfectly balanced.
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus

Well, duvell is mahogony body bolt on neck. Tonally, it's closer to an Ibby than a LP.

Go for the Jugg, the Nailbomb can be very treacherous, mine was also extremely thin, trebblish solos, strange mid range, no bass depth...

A-Bomb in a LP style guitar = great result.
Juggerset in an Ibanez RG / Strat style guitar = Great result.

Thanks everyone! Juggs look like the best choice, don't really like nazgul (aftermath is way better).
