-The new Tool single/album, what are people's thoughts? I heard Vicarious, it's pretty cool, seems like the immediacy of Aenima period but with the more 'mathematical' riff styles of Lateralus (if that makes any sense whatsoever). I'm going to wait til May though for the album. It's very rare for there to be an album that I really look forward to these days, so I'm going to be a good boy and buy it on release date! :D

I wasn't too impressed by tool. The songs are good, but they are all the same.

I felt the same about APC, all the songs merged to create one long never ending song.

but see, that's what I like about Tool. It is a bit dirgey, but at the same time, the riffs are wicked and the drumming is incredible, and Maynard's lyrics create a really great mood, you sort of 'get inside the song'. I can understand why someone wouldn't like them, it took me a long time to get into them, but now I love them. Having said that, I do think some fans get a bit carried away.

They remind me of Rush, which is a good thing!

I don't much like APC though; I find them quite bland.

Ah I did love Rush at one point, let my girlfriend hear 2112 and I got mocked for being an old fart. Think when I said 'It's a CLASSIC!' she couldnt stop laughing.

I'm not that old either...

Having said that, I don't know if you've seen the Rush in Rio DVD, but the camera pans around and you're like 'WOAH! Hot young Brazilian girls in the crowd??? Hot girls listen to Rush, in Brazil??? Pack your bags, we're leaving!'
