I just got back from Essex Amp Repairs with my Koch Head! Yes those old jokes again.
Instead of EL34s I’ve gone for 6L6s instead. It’s like a whole new amp. The cleans are incredible
also the presence control on the gain channels has a lot more of a positive influence on the tone.
It sounds much better than it did with the EL34s. It still kick arse on the distortion but it’s got a really nice new vibe about it. Rehearsals are going to be good 😀

Good to hear Johnny. I had a Koch Multitone but never got on with it well. Especially the highgainchannel was disappointing. But Koch keeps improving the range. I'm very excited to hear the new Greg Koch model from Koch live (what's in a name!).

Was your suffering from a lack of Mids? That’s what mine is like. Even though in theory the gain channels should still break up from the pre amp the same, the Koch sounds different, but in a good way. I dug out the manual last night. I forgot I had it but it says you can put any power Valve configuration in there. Even mix them up in pairs.
I’m not going to be using tonnes of gain for this project. I play a lot of clean Nile Rogers style stuff. If I do any solos it’s all lower gain stuff. I still like the heavier end of things too. Perhaps I’ll be able to pursued the others to do something sleazy like VH Dirty Movies! I’d better get practicing for that one 😈

The total voicing yes. Not fat enough. And I had to turn up the gain to make it sounds a little decent, but then it got fizzy. I had better results on the drivechannel with a OD-pedal in front. I didn't like the cleanchannel very much. It stayed very clean, nearly no breakup and that is often where the magic happens. I think the Twintone III has overall a better sound than the Multitone.
