Hey guys i'm looking into getting my own laptop so that i can use it to write my own music using programs like Logic etc without any one in my family messing with it and so that i can use the internet without having brothers and sisters behind me nagging at me to hurry up and let them use the computer.

What would you guys suggest that i should look into as i have very limited knowledge of what makes a great computer.

Steve, I have two computers right now in the same room and only one of them gets any use.  It's a Mac G5.   The other one is a Gateway PC.  They both have the same amount of RAM and that kinda thing, but the Mac is enjoyable to use, while I've spent years cursing PCs.

Not sure about laptops, but my desktop Mac came with wireless internet hookup, so I can use it anywhere in the house.   It also came with Garageband, which is very cool for doing simple music stuff with.

You haven't said what your budget is.  That's something we're gonna have to know before we start to recommend specific models of computers.
