Different version of Pups 6, 7 and 8 strings
« on: September 01, 2019, 09:15:39 AM »
Hi!

I have a pair of Juggernauts 7 and I'm thinking about throwing another one in my 8 string fan fret. Does anybody have both versions? To what extent are they similar?

Hi,

Because the size of the pickups are different, we obviously can't put the same turns of wire onto the 8 strings as each turn is longer. We adapt the windings accordingly to ensure the pickup is tonally as close as possible. I'd be surprised if you noticed much of a difference between the two.

Thanks for the answer. Somebody at other forum already told me dimarzio or emgs vary a damn lot but SD and BKP take it more seriously and are very similar on purpose.
