BKP Apache vs Fender CS54
« on: September 29, 2019, 05:37:21 AM »
Anyone compared the apache to fender cs54?
I have the cs54 in a (quite heavy) japanese reissue 54 strat. I like how clear and quacky the CS54 sound, but I’m curious how a softer magnet like an A3 would sound in this guitar.
I only care about the sound in the neck and neck+middle position (srv, john mayer fan).

Hi there! I have a 50th anniversary swamp ash Strat that came with the CS-54 pickups and even though they sounded good on that guitar I had decided to try the Apaches, for me it was the clarity and bell like ringing of notes that made a very startling difference.  I would describe it as removing a blanket from your speaker amp, Krispy clear notes as compared to the darker opaque 54ths. Get the pots too and bliss will be yours. Cheers!!
