Dimarzio Area67 vs Apache Set (comparison video)
« on: February 16, 2020, 09:47:42 PM »
For the past 10 years I've had noiseless Dimarzio Area 67 (Virtual Solo in the bridge) in my strat and now I've switched to an Apache Set (zink baseplate on the bridge)

I've recorded various examples, before and after.
I really like the Apaches, but I expected the difference to be much bigger though ;)

But you hear for yourself:

I like the Apaches more :)
That Strat is supposed to be my clean machine anyways, so the noiselessness of the Dimarzio wasn't really needed.

But the Dimarzios turned out to be surprisingly good in comparison.

The Dimarzio sound surprisingly good and the noiseless technology is nice.
The specs on the Virtual Solo pickup show that it has quite a bit of output compared to the Area 67s.
