Neck pickup to go with a piledriver
« on: May 06, 2020, 07:57:16 PM »
Hey guys
I've been playing with a piledriver set in my Tele since 2005.
Tastes have changed a little over the time and I'm hankering after something different in the neck to give me a wider palette of tones

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thank
Thats right, i like both types of music rock and roll

People use all kinds of neck pickups in Teles.  Are you looking for a Tele pickup, or a humbucker, or a P-90?

I've always thought a Supermassive P-90 might pair well with a Piledriver but maybe you are looking for something different?  Just saying you want different tones doesn't help much to be honest

Sorry should have said I do want keep to the single coil Tele pickup. Don't want to get into routing the body.

The supermassive sounds cool though

I would look along the lines of a Boss or a True Grit neckpickup. If you want a cleaner sound that has some strat flavour: Blackguard 52 neck.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
