In terms of compression I think the Rebel Yell will be absolutely fine.
You are probably thinking of compressed pickups like DiMarzios or some of the Seymour Duncans like the Black Winter. None of the sets in the Bare Knuckle range are like that. Even the Black Hawk is not as compressed as your average DiMarzio.
I think the Rebel Yell will probably be perfect for the styles you play.
It sounds like your Les Paul has a fair amount of low mids. The RY will clean that up a bit.
I have an Impulse in a Schecter that I run into various Peavey heads - 6534+, JSX, 3120 - and that is probably the closest pickup I currently own to a RY, and that sounds fantastic through those amps, really articulate with plenty of cut. I have also tried a Les Paul with an Emerald bridge pickup through the 6534+ and that sounded great, more 'vintage' than the Impulse somehow but still with that clarity and cut. The RY is basically somewhere between those two so I think it will be good with your amp, which is no more compressed in character than mine
