Slash tone with BKP

I know he uses Seymour Duncan pickups, but which set from the BKP range would get you close?
The Boot Camp Old Guard seems to me like a good start... anything getting closer?

Boot camp old guard set looks ideal to get his sound, to me!
If you want another idea - my initial thoughts were a Mule bridge and Stormy Monday neck (although the Mule is Alnico IV rather than Alnico II, it's what I always think of as the Les Paul rock sound!). Send a message to Tim and see what he says - my money is on him saying Old Guard!

Thanks Serratus. That was my thought from listening to the clips by Rabea for the Old Guards, but I haven't listened to the clips for all the other pickups, hence the question. I have the Mule in the bridge of my LP Studio. Great pickup but not quite Slash-like.

I would think you definitely want an Alnico II magnet then = Old Guards!! :)

Unfortunately, there's no pickup that is close to the Slash sound from the BKP range (they really should come out with a "Night Train" model *wink *wink).

Mule is way off - you want the A2 buttery response.
Stormy Monday are way too percusive.
PG Blues is slightly better, but still too percusive, not ideal at all.

Old Guard might be your best bet right now - but I have no idea how these sound.

In the Old guard clip Rabea did around NAMM time, I could hear some of the Slash like butteriness.

I know this reply is very late but last month I coincidently did send a message to Tim on this very subject and he replied with, "Old Guard humbuckers are absolutely spot on for that super smooth, sweet Slash tone".
