I had a NJ neck thru assassain.. it was ok.

Its suprising how poor alot of guitars feel thesedays...

I was testing some amps in a shop and 1st tried an ESP Ltd EC with EMG HZ's (£659).. it felt like a peice of plywood and sounded dead.

Next up was an Ibanez Jem 555 (£850).

Nicer neck, still sounded poop and felt cheap.

Tried one of these BC Rich warlocks, it sounded dead but felt nicer than the other two, but the neck was really wide it seemed... still they look amazing at least.. wouldnt mind one for cheap money actually..

The radical designs were quickly adopted by the metal scene but it seriously harmed their image of being a serious guitar builder.

I think that what harmed their image of being a serious guitar builder most is building piece of cr@p guitars in the far east.

The first guitar I bought was a cheapo plywood Warlock. Not very good for your image, indeed.

What REALLY damaged them as a serious guitar builder was the death of Bernie Snr.
When Snr. died and his son got control all HELL broke loose. All the Gay L.A. Metal (Glam) excess) was wholeheartedly embraced by B.C.Rich and the drugs and partying and therefore arguing KILLED the company.

Neal Moser is writing a book on the whole thing and what I have read thus far is a better "Rock Soap Opera" than the Motley Crue story!
