Hey you lot. I've got an Alder bodied Ibanez Universe (body made by Feline Guitars). I no longer like the EMG 707 as i find that it sounds lifeless and dull in comparison to my RG with Holy Divers and the stock pickups of my PRS.
In the past i used a Warpig in a 7 string but i was just looking for an insane rhythm tone. Now i'm looking for a smooth lead tone that lets dynamics and picking technique shine through as well as keeping the Low B tight and articulate.
I love the sound of the Holy Divers but i'm not sure how they would work with 7 strings as it's geared towards the more 80's metal tone. Would a Miracle Man or Nailbomb suit the 7 string? I've never played about with a Miracle Man but i have messed with a Nailbomb and it was pretty insane. But any suggestion is welcome.
