BKP virgin needs humbucker recommendations!

I've gone for the Abraxas neck and Rebel Yell bridge.  Tim told me that my guitar would handle the Cold Sweat, but his comment about the RY was "it's awesome, brighter and tighter than the Crawler".  That swung it!

I'm really interested to hear how this worked out.  When I was choosing BKPs for my LP, I had also picked the Santana-esque vibe of the Abraxas/Crawler neckl as a touchstone, but wobbling around with various "medium hot" bridge choices before following Tim's recommendation to the Crawler bridge.  I distinctly wanted something that was not too tight and bright, so the Crawler was right for me -- but the Rebel Yell demos sound fantastic, I'm interested to hear more of it (you know, just in case, someday, I have some more guitars .... :))

I'll let you know how it turns out!

Could be a wee while, as I'm going to give the guitar a minor overhaul at the same time as installing the pickups - change the tuners, tidy up the nut a bit and shield the control cavity.  I need to take a couple of days off because I never get round to doing anything useful at the weekends.

Won't be recording any demos, though, as unless the pickups have magical properties I'll still sound like a strangled cat.  Only now it'll be a toneful strangled cat.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I share your pain. :)

I definitely share your pain! ;)  Though that hasn't stopped me from coughing up a few demos to inflict on the world anyway! :)
