52mm String Spacing On a P90
« on: August 22, 2006, 08:49:25 PM »
I've just noticed that the strings on my Les Paul Junior sit a little outside the poles on the BKP-92 that I fitted recently. Have I bought the wrong one, or are they all like this.

Wayne.

i noticed this on a custom SG that i have (with non-bkp pickups unfortunately). however despite its beautiful sound the build on the SG is 'slightly wobbly' so this may not be entirely accurate.

I think this is normal, I wouldn't worry too much about it mate! In my guitar it seems to fit but that's cos it's hand made, unlike a Gibson. Gibson's are great guitars but you have to find the right ones, some are actually better made than others, and on some the pickups can line up perfectly, on some they dont. Altough it never seems to effect the tone at all! not in my experince.

The spacing on P90s has always been 50mm, there's never been a wide spaced version to my knowledge.
