Thinline Tele pickups...

I was thinking of upgrading the pickups in my G&L tribute ASAT semi-hollow (basically a very good korean ash thinline tele), and was thinking about either a brown sugar set, a the boss set or one of these bridge pickups with a humbucker (mule or stormy mondays). Is it hard to rout the neck cavity for a humbucker? Is it possible to get a proper volume balance with the pickup types the other way around (humbucker neck, sc bridge) (if you'd follow convention, heh.)? And does anyone have opinions on these pickups?

I like the Boss bridge, but I use it with a Slowhand Strat neck.  It is a great combination for me.  

It is not hard to rout the neck pocket if you have the right tools.  It can be done with a chisel and power drill but the correct tool is a router.  If you don't know what you are doing or are not very good at woodwork the best bet is to find someone who can do it for you.

You can buy the pickups as a calibrated set and BK will balance the sound for you (as much as they can with a neck HB and bridge SC).  If you got for one of the PAF style pickups you should be OK.
