Need help choosing pickups
« on: September 06, 2006, 07:18:34 PM »
Hey I want to get some more pickups for my gibson SG special faded so mahogony body and ebony fretboard. I'm looking for a sound that can give a nice gentle clean sound but can dynamic if pushed. i wnat a sound taht doesnt get nasal or trebly but that is still defined. and for the distortion sound i want a big sound that is still defined without being too trebly and that can be pushed to quite heavy distortion but staying away from a metal sound or a shredding sound. So a heavy rock sound like cream or smashing pumpkins kinda distortion also like pearl jam sound (the old stuff on the les paul) and led zeppelin sound.

Anyways thanks in advance

alex
