Difference bwtn RY, JB, HD CC?

I know these are mid heavy pickups and was wondering the differences between them apart from magnet?

Which will take OD/gain better. Which has less of that JB honk but has good cutting mids never the less.

I have a JeffBEck in the bridge of my Hamer and from a frequency range point of view it's quite similar to the Rebel that I received and installed yesterday. Both pickups push a lot in the upper mid range indeed.

But that doesn't mean that they sound very similar. The JB is lacking a certain quality in the highs and the definition in the bass which are both delivered exquisitely by the RY. Further the RY is higher up on the "crazyness" scale, it just lets harmonics jump out of the speakers and hit you hard, whereas the JB is softer and more boring as to my taste.

I only know these two from the ones you mentioned.

search function!!

keano ... no offense, man, but this has been done to death. You are not new to this forum. I have commented extensively on all these pups, and there are dozens of threads about them. There is a thread where I specifically compare the JB to the Holy Diver and Rebel Yell. Even Tim chimes in.

You just have to look for it! :)

Hello Twilight. You are right I have read them all actually. But this post was enough just to hear from someone like Hunter who said:

I thought maybe it was me (regarding lack of definition on bass end. so hearing hunter say it it was worth the post. Inlcuding yours as well.
thanks
