Parker Fly Pickup Options

Reet guys, need a touch advice, I have already had the tech who does work on all my guitars speak to tim about fitting BKP's to my parkers, so i know rough prices and at least that it can be done.

I know that at least three people have put BKP's on their fly's previously, was just wondering on the off-chance if any of them happened to be members on here.

Just curious as to what direction to go down...

I have a Fly Classic (Parker specific Dimarzios) and Fly Mojo Flame SD JB and Jazz), the mojo flame is the better sounding guitar, and is my main guitar currently, so i have a dilema, whether to make it sound superb, or whether to improve the Classic... also, what pickup set would be a good option.

My main original band is thrash, tuned to C. I play in various wedding and unction bands too but i have a few other guitars so don't really need to worry about covering all your favourite pop funk and blues tones lol.

Appoogies for the essay, any pointers much appreciated.

Do you want something for that drop tuned metal or for wedding music, or something that could do both?

for the metal really, what i'll probably do is, at this point anyway, put a set of bareknuckles in the mojo, take the seymour duncans out of that and put them in the classic.

ihave a few other guitars that generally i usefor cover bands.

Nah, i bought the first one as an all rounder to use for general cover gigs and fr recording with various non-rock folks, but started using it in metal bands pretty swiftly, still loved it for other stuff though so i bought another so i can keep them in seperate tunings.

they do everything pretty well. I'd just like a bit more cut and, well, balls really.

Well the parkers work well enough for Reeves Gabriels and some of his stuff definately wanders into heavy sounds (though not in metal style)

have so far had a nailbomb irish tour set and now three apaches in my parker, blew away any of the others I tried(dimazio, sd, fender etc)

what specific type of sound you after

I really like how the warpig distorts, and i like it's clean as a biting bridge pickup. but i need a much fatter neck pickup, while still cutting,  warmer and thick.

I thought about say, a missisipi queen, but wondered about maybe a volume differences between the two?

In saying that my warpig is in an alder guitar wereas my fly is mahogany... argh, choices choices...

A Warpig bridge and MQ neck is a very popular combo.

I can think warpig or miracle man... if you go with a nailbomb you would probably be able to pull off blues tones in your other bands with it too....

What I would do if I were you, is put your BKPs in the Fly Mojo Flame as it appears to be your favorite of the two and put the pickups in that in the Classic, that way you are improving both guitars at once.

Yeah that's pretty much the plan at the minute with regards to switching thepickups round in the flys...A friend has a Nailbomb in a Schecter I may see if I can borrow for a couple gigs and see how i get on with it.
