Tele neck pup to match Abraxas bridge?

Hey Tim and all you Bare Knucklers,

I have an LTD Hybrid-400 which is mahogany guitar with routing for a Tele neck pickup and a humbucker at the bridge.

Having listened to the players clips I'm pretty set on an Abraxas for the bridge but which Tele neck pickup would be a good match for that?

I'm guessing the Piledriver, but maybe it should be the Boss?

Any advice/input greatfully received!

Ok, I've had a bit more of a think about this...

I've tried a few different Tele neck pups in my guitar over time, and have prefered the sound whith more mids in it, so I gues that's the Boss right?

I guess what I'm asking then is would the Abraxas bridge totally overpower a Boss neck?

I plan to have a coil split switch for the Abraxas, so when it's in single coil mode I guess they would match prety well right?

Any feedback would be much appreciated, I'd really like to get it nailed this time! (Two new pups is quite an investment after all!!)

Id suggest mailing Tim in regard to this as it's a slightly unusual combination.

I would pick a vintage hot pickup, like the Abraxas.  Boss should be there.   Adjust pickup height for volume balance.    I would email the experts before purchasing.

Hey, just to say thanks for your replies.

Also an update on the pickups for guitar:

To cut a long story short, I had originally purchased a Stormy Monday for this guitar but had found that a bit shrill. Recently I swapped the bridge from the horrible tele style humbucker-mount bridge that the guitar came with to a Schaller roller bridge and a separate ring mount for the pickup. Out of curiosity I reinstalled the Stormy Monday to see if the tone had changed with the change of hardware - and it has! The Stormy Monday is giving me the sweetest tone. So now I have purchased a Country Boy to go at the neck and it is a match made in heaven! I am absolutely in love with my guitar now, it's simply gorgeous sounding.

I'm running it into a 4w Matamp Minimat EL84 head and Award Session 1x12 cab with a Celestion G12 Centuary Vintage speaker. I'll post clips on the players forum as soon as my broken finger heals up.

Bare Knuckles sh*t on the other "big brand" pickups I've tried.

Cool, I'm glad you sorted that out.   :)

Would have liked to try to help, but humbucker + Tele neck is such a difficult combo to get right!
