Which single coil would best be suited towards Malmsteen things?

It'll be replaced the JB junior in my strat but i might keep the stock singles in the middle and neck. So it would have to match (or close enough)  the stock single coils output

I have an overwound high output Sinner in the bridge and two low powered Duncans in the middle and neck of my Strat. I personally like the Ultimate power single coil (sinner) bridge then being able to switch to "vintage quack" in the other positions.

Remember that the YJM sound comes from Dimarzio stacked singles not true singles so the high power of the Sinner would be perfect.

I would recommend the original spec Sinner for your bridge.

BTW - I have a Trilogy in the middle of my Ibanez and if you wanted to lower the output one very slight step further I can say that you'll love that as well.

Yeah, but although the HS-3 and YJM have really high DC resistance (about 23K or something!), the actual output is quite low.  I've got an HS-3 and it's not noticeably hotter than a normal Strat pickup.

They do seem to handle distortion a little better than ordinary Strat pickups, but I think that may be due to the lack of hum more than anything else.

Having said all that, I'm sure the guys are right that a Trilogy or Sinner would be a great replacement for your JB Jr.
