FYI
dunno which one you are looking at but the camo one and black one (although same model name) are NOT same pedal!

Whilst still living in US found this out, MXR changed circuitry.

Also, IMO, you will NOT get anywhere near Pantera tone with this in front of a clean channel, it needs an already 'filthy' channel :) to produce good gain :)

thats the 'blowout' discontinued one I am sure. They were blowing these out in the big US stores, dos'nt mean it's cr@p though.

HBE is great pedal!

But for non-booteek, the black one is older/different circuitry. There is a reason but not getting into it in open forum.
Suffice to say, IMO, the newer one is better.

Keep it simple: spend £30 on a DS-1. Oh I am sure there's masses wrong with it. But at home at low volumes it works and live it rocks.

For my money, you can't go wrong with an original Guv'nor or RAT pedal into a clean amp.

For boosting a dirty amp, TS-9s and SD-1s are great.
