I've got one for christmas and I cant get the Line6 Monkey to work, It just says theres nothing connected, even though the green light on the top is on and im getting sound out of it.
1) you need to plug the speakers into one of the analogue outs rather than your soundcard (not sure if you are silly enough to fall for this, but i spent 15 minutes uninstalling and reinstalling in vain attampts to get any sound out).
2) I opened audacity, but gave up sharpish and installed Live lite and it worked fine but first go into Options>preferences>audio tab>driver type, then select ASIO. the help presentations are OK but not great.

In Live, once you've set all that up, open a new set and press the rectangle with a circle in it to set up audio 1 to record. then all of the squares above it will turn into circles. press one of thes and it will start recording. all of that in detail is in help>lesson 1:making music I think.

well there are no instructions, so no-one can really blame you for that. After a bit of fiddling i thing Audacity is easier. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

How do you export as an MP3 on that other program? It just says save as live set.

And yeah i used Audacity before i got the Toneport, it is much easier.

You can download the latest Gearbox software from the Line6 website - the newest version doesn't have this problem.

Thanks Peter! it all works now.
Crazy_joe, If you get the new one it comes with a PDF manual that actually helps(!), rather than the webpage which tells you what the buttons do.
