Quick Miracle Man Q..
« on: December 31, 2006, 10:45:00 AM »
Hey guys,

I posted t'other day and you recommended me a set of Miracle Mans for my Schecter S-1 Elite for punk/hardcore/metal. I wanted to thank you for your recommendation, I checked out clips/reviews and they seem amazing and very well suited to me ideal tone! I did just have a few questions though.

In my first post, I forgot to mention that although I use the neck pickup for lead work, I do also use it for cleans, which are very important to me. I know it seems a bit paradoxical to want both a creamy high-gain lead tone and also a warm, full clean tone (full bass with ringing mids and highs), but I was wondering if the neck Miracle Man was versatile enough to both, and if not, if you could recommend me another pickup?

Second question, purely asthetic (!), for a Schecter S-1 Elite in the Grey Mist colour, satin black covers or chrome covers?!    :D

For creamy lead and clean in a neck pup try the popular Cold Sweat, or maybe even a Crawler/Abraxas neck would be a possible alternative.
I think both colours would be ok but I think your hardware is chrome so I'd probably get a matching set :)

Is the Cold Sweat pretty high gain? I'm looking for the sort of neck lead tone you can get from an EMG 85, but more organic, maybe slightly less gain, less compression, but most importantly, with good cleans...

its not quite as hot as an 85, but hot enough to meet your needs. With good cleans!
