Man theres just too much choice! still maybe i'm being a bit geeky but i'll stear clear of boss (just cos everyone has one!) and go for something to give me a bit of a "Different" sound - 8)

I just got a hold of a Boss HM-2 (heavy metal 2, japanese version)

I wanted heavy, chugging 80's metal tone out of my vox, and this is perfect.

Distorted and a bit fizzy, perfect for some needs. A bit of a one trick pony, but i got it for £25...

Also! very good as a solo boost when i'm using the UK 70's setting on my vox...

Heh, it'll give you a different sound at least :]

I'm sure it would be pretty spot on cos thats the difference I'm after - its just i have a real big hang up with boss! I know that they are good pedals, after all they are the number 1 selling, but unfortunately their success is their downfall & i have a thing about using stuff that will make my rig just that bit different!!

so basically i need a Boss HM-2 but not made by boss - and probably something boutique i need to pay through the nose for!! :lol:

That's what I have. It's a great boost! You should love it!

Wth the right amp and the right settings, it can make an awesome solo boost in treble boost mode so that your high notes really scream!

I really hate boss too, BUT the old boss pedals? why not... and heck not many people use 'em.

And they're so damned cheap, even if i didnt like it i wouldn't bother selling it, i'd just find another use for it (and i've found plenty allready!)
