Hi i am looking to get a miracle man (B) and cold sweat (N) for my ibanez rg but i wanted to know i few things first. basically is it better to have 250k or 500k pots or doesnt it really. also, and i dont know if its possible but i want white open coil but with black cap allen head.will this effect the tone in anyway if so how?? cheers!

generally you want 500k pots for humbuckers. Cap allen heads give you more bass, I think, but im pretty sure someone said they dont go well with cold sweats somewhere...

err I thought that coldsweat/miracleman combination worked extremely well??... Im sure there are alot of peopl on here with them!  Also the allen heads add more bass and top.  My has dual allen heads and is VERY bassy :twisted:  :twisted:

It probably does, i meant allen heads dont go with cold sweats.

Having 2rows of screws that go through the baseplate brings up more bass end.
That goes for cap head as well as regular head.
The cap heads may spread the magnetic field up a bit more too

Sometimes that can actually be more than is required- and you can find that the regular can prove a better choice

cheers for your replies! i guess i wont bother getting cap allen heads if they add more bass...only wanted them because they looked cool! is there a way of finding out if i already have 500k pots in my ibanez??

You can also do what I do and use no pots after the pickup!!
