Some people might say you are wrong to buy that, but personally last time i tried an AVT i really liked the sound that i got from it.
I say that is a good buy (depending on the price!)

Well I'm sure I'll get cursed for saying this cause its Marshall, and I know there's a lot of LANEY fans here (I got a LANEY too, only a TF300 mind) but I just bought this in a sale: Marshall AVT150HX Sound nice, much better than my current amp and I can't afford a full Valve amp right now anyway.

assuming you have bareknuckles you'll get the best possible tone from that amp, so it should be alright.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Hmm considering your budget for the guitar, I'd really halve it and buy a decent amp, you won't get the best of the guitar (nowhere near it) through the AVT. I've just sold my AVT100 because I couldn't get a sound I was happy with even with a new speaker and various pedals. Admittedly I'm using a £600 guitar not £1000+ but still, the problem was the amp not guitar.  My JCM900 just cost me £250, which should be a nice step up from the AVT.

I have two that would suit your needs.... well technically only one, but the one that technically does not suit your needs can be ordered with a Floyd Rose (mine has a fixed bridge).  And you sure cannot ocmplain about the prices I paid...

ESP Mirage Custom ($400 used and beat up but in perfect playing condition)
Carvin DC127 ($400 used and less beat up but still in perfect playing condition)

Then throw some Nailbombs in and you're all set - it sure rocks in the ESP!
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.
