The fat strat I mentioned...
« on: January 14, 2007, 04:15:00 AM »
Hi guys. In the market for pickups for my fat strat, as I said.

Anyway, my ever evolving tastes are looking for something that can do most anything. Country rock, blues rock, maybe a bit of southern rock, hard rock in the vein of Motorhead and Van Halen, and quite alot of post-rock.

To that end, I was looking at the VHII + Irish Tours HSS set. I was just running it by you guys to see what you thought.

I emailed Tim as well, so we'll what happens.

Thanks in advance guys.
Yeah, well, The Dude abides.

You can certainly expect a reply from a Mr J. Healey agreeing with your choice!

Sounds good to me, I don't have those pickups but if I was kitting out an HSS Strat those would be very near the top of my list.  I might go for Slow Hands instead of Irish Tours, but only because I like a very warm Strat tone - I think the ITs may be a bit more versatile.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
