At last a decent amp......

No its not boutique and no its not high end expensive.

But when you have 7 guitars and a bunch of stuff in your music room and anll you can say about your amp is....

"I have a [cough] Roland [cough-mumble] Cube [mumble] 30"

It gets pretty embarrassing when talking to gear heads.

I can now stand with a little amount of pride and say,

I have a Fender blues Deville 60w 4x10..." and when in the presence of gear heads "... and no, its not a re-issue"

I havent even picked it up yet and I'm already looking for advice and mods to play with.

I was just about to order a set of slowhands this week when a buddy of mine rang me up and told me he was having money probs.

I paid more than market value, its by no means a bargain buy.

The slowhands are still coming as I really dont like the sound of my strat.

If anyone has got any advice on any mods or pages I should be checking out please chime in.

Man I cant wait...... :crazy2:

Yep: don't feel guilty; enjoy! (Tell you what, I played a friend's Jap strat through a Cube and I thought it was marvellous!) Congrats!

I've actually been looking into the Roland Cubes.... I played a mircocube the other day, and I was incredible surprised. That thing had more tone and overall great sound than my shitety old 30watt Crate. How does the 30 cube sound?

It looks like the cube is getting more attention than your new amp... Oh the irony  :)

I know little to nothing about amps...

Well I will go back to his new amp-JP, well done mate. I have been playing my S/H Strat live more and more since it has been BKP'd.Usually the first set is S/H and the second is Apache-both wonderful-couldn't make up my mind if I tried though the Apache(USA) Strat is old and plays so well (unlike me he he)-the S/H Strat (Jap) could do with a set up and isn't played in to the extent that i like-but now that it gets used more it will. Ramble over, your Strat, once BKP's  with that Amp will sound bloody wonderful.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance
BKP's: Apache, Country Boy, Slowhands.

Oh yeah.... the Cube.

The 60w Isnt too bad but I havent had too much time with one.

The 30 watt is tight, midrange muddy and generally rubbish.

I'm convinced most of it is in the 10'' speaker

If your after tone. get a 15w valve amp from laney.

Mate has one and it kills the cube. KILLLS IT.

A practice amp should allow you to practice. alone or with others. The cube will not stand infront of a drum kit. I've tried it a few times and its left way underpowered.

we use roland cube 30's at leeds college of music, i put mine on a chair to get it up in to the air a bit and it sounds fine a rehersals.. and we don't even max the amps out and there is no way anyone would say our drummer is quiet, great little practice/rehersal amps way better than the line 6 flextone IIIXL we have in the same room at college which just doesnt cut through the mix at all.

congrats on the new amp, welcome to valve terratory and enjoy dynamics ;)

Look, you can pull some acceptable tone/s.

but compared to something for similar money with not as many featuers but a heaps better tone?

The Laney

Hands down.
