all i know about the point to point versus pcb argument is that rarely (if ever) will you find two amps with the exact same components, one built PCB and the other point to point, to compare the tones. It could be something else in one or the other which is changing the tone, not the fact it's PCB or PTP. EDIT: what I mean is, you won't find an SLO100 that's PCB, and then find another that's PTP so you can compare the two. If you compare a cornford to an SLO, you're comparing the cornford circuit to the SLO circuit, not the fact that one's PTP and the other is PCB.
