Pickup Advice

Hey guys. I'm new here, and was hoping you might all be able to give me some advice on a pickup upgrade for my main guitar.

I'm looking to upgrade the pickups in my Moser bar-steward Vi (BVi). Its a maple neck-thru with alder body. Usually in standard, or Eb tuning.

It currently has korean made copies of the Dimarzio X2N and Super Distortion as stock pickups. I quite like the sound of them, but being slightly cheaper copies, they dont quite have the oomphhh of the real thing.

Was originally thinking of just replacing them with the real dimarzio versions, but I'm tending towards BKP now.

The nailbomb and warpig sound particularly interesting.

I'm needing something that has quite a bit of low end chug, as its mainly rhythm I play, mostly thrash metal. But I also tend to use pinched harmonics a lot, so I need something that can really scream too.

Would the warpig be a good choice for both low end chunk, and high pitched screams on this guitar do you reckon?

Cheers for your help

Welcome :D
I would suggest either Painkiller or Miracle Man-both are ceramic like your existing p/ups but have masses of power and pulling off pinch harmonics is completely effortless. Warpig is great for huge slabs of thick drive and I'd suggest the ceramic version for squeezing those harmonics out easier.

If you want a lot of low mids as well as good lows get a Nailbomb.... I find the Nailbomb has excellent low end to it and a very full tone and perhaps the best lead tone of any pickup I have ever used.  If you want more lows and a darker sound get a Warpig (but you may want a ceramic Warpig if you go that route as Tim said).

I think the Painkiller will probably do the best old school thrash tone, where the Miracle Man will be a little more modern.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.
