I think you can just forget the tone control bit if you don't have one.

yes thats great thankyou i do have a pot for the tone control i just need to get a resistor for it but want to get everything wired up until i get get out to the electronics store so this is just a quick fix

I think you mean a capacitor right? I imagine putting a resistor on a pot will turn it into a super-volume pot.
