i currently have a BK miracle man in my basswood ibanez v and i now have a solid h#mahogany agile al2500 (les paul copy) and im wanting to change out the bridge pickup because the one in there is really weak and thin sounding

i play mainly old school metal stuff eg metallica megadeth sabbath etc

so im wanting something that can do this well i was thinking miracle man again because i love the one i have but im worried it will sound too similar so i want something that can do all of the above AND good cleans

i looked at the waripig but its just too brutal for my tastes

any recommendations?

see i know someone who uses a nailbomb but its in an alder guitar so i should imagine it would sound massively different in mahogany?

im open to all suggestions

from what i understand, alder is brighter than mahogany, as it is a lot lighter, and various other stuff, i can't really tell with my guitars as my les paul has a mahogany back and alder top on it, which balances quite well actually

i reckon the nailbombs would be sweet in a mahogany guitar and i think they have a little extra grunt which would be better for metallica and stuff but also clean up nicely.... plus like i said if you want nailbombs in a gold cover just ask..

I hear the nailbomb is just powerfull enough to cut through mahogany, but its on the edge of being muddy: medium power pickups are muddy in mahogany, and the nailbomb isnt all that powerfull. So it should be fine, but watch out, if your mahogany is quite dark sounding you may encounter dreaded mud (as unusual as that is with a BK).

I would go with another Miracle Man.
