Hi - I'm trying to locate a used example of either r30 or chubster 40. Anyone know where I might find one or anyone recommend something similar ? Thanks

Are you in the UK?
If so, try The Guitar Store in Southampton. They're the main UK distributor for Rivera, and normally have a pretty good stock, including a fair amount of ex-demo stuff that you may be able to haggle with.
Other than that, eBay is you best best - although they tend to be rare as rockin-horse poo on there.

Thanks - yep, tried them but didnt get very far either. Most bizarre encounter was with the Thoman 'cyber store' which went:

Me: I am looking for a Rivera Chubster 40 1x12 combo. Can you tell me if you can supply these, what the price is (including UK delivery) and what the lead time is ? Thanks

Thomann: Hello, sorry no chance !!! Rivera is in our house complete sold out !!!

Me: Are you ordering any more ?

Thomann: Hello, no, sorry !!!

Bizarre - similar to the old "You're the 1000th person I've told today, there's NO demand"

no worries, that built in gain boost on there really does act like a second channel in its own rite though, just like having your standard clean/crunch and drive channels but with twin master volumes :)

I think Thomann stopped stocking Riveras, I was wondering recently why there are no Knuckle Heads on their site.

They had quite some B-grade models recently, maybe they stopped them due to quality issues.

Also check this review which refers to a Thomann Rivera: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar+Amp/product/Rivera/Fandango+55-112+Combo/25/1
