Finally wired the VHIIs with a push push coil split in my PRS SE

EDIT: Added Scorpions/the zoo further down this thread

Clip is a bit too compressed, sorry for that, hope you'll like it anyway.[/b]

I came after your last "tricked"-pole and didn't hear your PRS stock pups... anyway does your PRS sound better with VHII than with stock pups?...
I started my own record label.
It's called Stand Out Records.
We ONLY use Bare Knuckle Pickups...

BEAUTIFUL
Great playing and a truly gorgeous tone! I heard the PRS pups clip and this is so much better! Is this using the Shiva? The overdrive is full but tender.
Can you give a breakdown as to what pickups/splits are used throughout the clip?
Also how did you wire the split, screw coil or slug?

Thanks a lot for the praise Gungataff, and also _tom_ for the voting.
I'm just getting used to the VHs, I'd have expected them to be a tad more rough/raw, not so refined, but think I could just get used to this - I still have the RebelYell'ed Axis for the evil stuff

Yes this was the Shiva with a Lexicon MX200 in the loop, quite low volume, as usual on Sunday morning - I'd say conversation level and mic'ed with an SM57.

The wiring is if the tone poti is pushed, I have outer (screw) coils, so I can get kind of a Tele in-between.

Let me try to recall the settings:
-The whole Gilmour solo part up to 1:15 is played with the neck in SC mode - on Shiva Ch1 with Boost on
-1:16 - 1:36 is neck HB on the same setting
-1:37 - 1:55 is Bridge HB on same setting
-1:56 - 2:50  is neck HB on CH2 boost off

After that I'm not sure anymore, might be in-between ...

Pretty sure after 3:55 it is Bridge HB ...

Wow, those clean's are delicious.

Unexpected, nothing like when i had a VH2 in an esp, but that was an agathis body...

I'd love a VH2 in the bridge of my HSS but, im too afraid of sounding like ed!

I need to hear some high-gain stuff that doesnt sound like ed...

Mooooreeee! :D

How many sets of BKP's do you have now hunter? you must have loads...

Man I did some height adjustment followed by an hour of serious Hi-gain shred tonight, and the guitar is SWEEEET. Not really EVH, as it doesn't have a Vibrato, but can easily do Scorpions to Santana to Clapton to Gilmour. Very very versatile and it really sings! I can't wait to gig with it at the end of the month.

And indeed, I do have quite a few BKPs now, 4 sets actually, quite some investment, but absolutely worth it!

Guess I'll need a Strat and a Tele and I should be set for a while

Can you tell me what your favorite height was? What is the space between the strings and the pickup in millimeters in the way you liked it your best for the bridge pickup?

Allright, someone wanted more gain, here we go, as I am on my Scorpions recovery tour, I had to do this :o)

THE ZOO

This is done with 2 mics, an SM57 on the G12H30 and a condenser on the Vintage 30  at really low volume (you can even hear the acoustic sound of the guitar in the background coming through to the mic as well).

P.S.: I couldn't recall what the 2nd guitar plays, someone have a proper tab?

Its amazing how good that Shiva sounds at low volume.. I wouldnt've thought the speakers would be pushed enough to get a good sound.

Yeah, that's also exactly what they said in last Guitarists review, it's an awesome recording amp that can sound cranked even when it isn't.

At low volume it's extremely touch sensitive, quite amazing actually how they pack that dynamics into the lower 5mm of the master poti range.

When it's cranked a bit, it gets crunchier and smoother at the same time, hard to describe, maybe best described with "gets easier to play".

I'm wondering if it could do metal if I'd put a MM or Nailbomb in one of my guitars ...
