I don't have much experience with Jackson, but I did play a DK2M with a Duncan JB a while back, and blimey it was nice (apart from the JB, lol)

no the gain boost is only on some guitars and is normally an after market mod.

the only difference is they use 250k pots rather than 500k pots

because most people that by guitars with passive emgs upgrade them to active meaning they only then have to get a stereo jack and battery clip.

I find this retarded as when you buy emgs you get 250k pots and the entire wiring look=m with it :S
