You're going to have the same amount of push, but of course the bridges are different, and the woods are different, so you will have some differences there. The mahogany will probably be thicker sounding.
God that takes me back!I had an Ibanez V way back in 1982, a black one. It was my first decent guitar and i loved it. I recall that the bridge didn't have enough balls for my liking but the MM should certainly fix that. The standard neck pup was always remarkably good and I think that's what started my liking for playing alot of solos at the neck. I went off the guitar for many years but when I came back to it the memory of that guitar was one of the reasons why I chose my Ibanez RGT42 over the Jackson I also considered. If I had the money I'd buy it but for anyone who may be seriously considering it, I doubt you'll regret it.
