i didn't really think of sorting the frets. indeed - thats a really excellent idea. it should make the neck feel alot more 'finished'. every squier neck i've ever tried has that sort of feel.

a nice thing to do to make a guitar instantly more comfortable is to 'roll' the fretboard edges.

It can be done really simply with a sharp blade from a stanley knife used as a scr@per i.e  scr@pe with it rather than cut with it.

All you do is scr@pe away the sharp corner on the edge of the fretboard to roll it over (easy to do, hard to describe), obviously it isnt wise to do it on a guitar with a lacquered maple fretboard. and dont do too much, a little goes a long way.

i had some spare time this afternoon to try this. i used a fresh blade, and scr@ped two or three times.

you're right - its noticeable more comfortable.

that was a great tip - thanks alot!

you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly
