Exchanging covers
« on: July 04, 2007, 03:57:32 PM »
Hi,

I've bought a Les Paul (it has Classic 57s) but I'd like to keep using my BKPs, so I need to replace the BKP gold covers with nickel ones.

Is it possible to reuse the nickel covers from the Classic 57s to house the BKPs ? The original covers are already a bit dull/aged so getting shiny new covers for the BKPs would look out of place.

Is this something a guitar tech could do or is it necessary to send them to Bareknuckle ?

Thanks.

i think tim prefers it if you get him to recover them to maintain the quality of the BKP product

You might also find that the spacing on the Gibson covers won't exactly match the BKP polepiece spacing - I haven't measured Classic 57s, but different manufacturers have their own ideas of "standard" spacing.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
