Help with a pignose
« on: September 21, 2007, 10:31:14 PM »
Hi guys!! Got me one of those lately:

http://www.pignoseamps.com/index.php  (the legendary 7-100)

I played it straight outta of the box that shipped it from Vegas and the sound is quite good, really nice for such a small amp actually.... but straight away i noticed a parasite buzzing, as if something was stuck on the speaker, something like a mobile phone vibrating on a metallic surface... and it's not something that's poorly installed or glued in the amp itself....  i don't know if i make myself clear :? ... anyway it's quite annoying, which is too bad cause i really dig the sound behind the buzzing....
So what do you think it is (it definitely comes from the speaker)? Could i fix it? I never owned a brand new amp before, does a new speaker does that before breakin'in? Should i just ship it back :( ??

Thanks for the help guys i really appreciate...
I started my own record label.
It's called Stand Out Records.
We ONLY use Bare Knuckle Pickups...

I should sound pretty good straight out of the box. Speakers do break in but it should not have any obvious interference with the amp's tone and this does sound as if something is wrong. Unless you can carefully take it apart to look for anything obvious, I would say to return it. Irritating at the best of times.
