Agreed.

The single tone control isn't in the least bit restrictive.  It's great!

ok, off topic, but as badger hates me I'll respond :)

I don't find the single tone control restrictive coz I never use it :) I use the tone pot on the guitar or a pedel. The TT shines because it is so simple, pedel boards are for making life more complicated :)

I don't hate you. It's my girlfriend and her eagle eyes on our finances that hate you. I love your big bald head. And I shall try out a TT then.

I finished an entire litre of triple chocolate icecream. I'm off to be sick. Sorry for hijacking your thread Henk. You have a really cool interesting name.

Hi Henk,

For me it depends on the day I've had........

No stress - the doubleneck comes off the wall and just gets played without any amplification.  This allows me to chat to the wife and get the working day out of the way.

Bit stressful - I pick up my Larrivee acoustic and go into the kitchen to let rip on it for a while.  That solid Rosewood body is a bit on the loud side!

Stressful - Any of my Les Pauls and stick it into my Marshall TSL601 on the crunch channel for some great bluesy riffing to ease off what has ired me that day!
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot!

Hi Henk,
it sounds like we're in a similar ballpark tonally. I'm right inbetween amps at the moment. I've been running a (too large) pedalboard into an Atomic Reactor 50W (demo'ed at http://youtube.com/watch?v=y696f_ckPZI ). The Atomic was OK, but not the right amp for the job.

So I'm waiting on a Jtm45 clone (with power scaling) to arrive in Nov sometime, to run through a 2x12 cab I've already got. That may even let me minimise my pedal requirements a bit.

I wish I had more oportunities to play loud in the house. It seems what with wife, child and neighbours, that the available hours in a week to enjoy one of the great joys in life (and you all know what I mean !) are all too minimal.  :(

Hi Henk,

Welcome!  PDT_015

For a mellow one I plug my strat with Irish Tours P/U's into a HBE Dos Mos, then into the front of my Koch Powertone II and a 4x12 and just exploit the the gorgeous tones and noddle around with blues and make up scale shapes that fit together, which may have names that I couldn't care less for!  8)  Finding the notes for riffs that I hear. Sometimes using a Les Paul copy with Cold Sweats and light/medium overdrive. :D

For a bad day I play my Charvel with a MM and go absolutely apeshitee until my left hand goes numb. Then some evil liver mangeling detuned riffs on my Schecter with a Warpig!
Warpig, MQ,
Miracle Man-Trilogy Suite, Cold Sweats, Black Guards, Rebel Yells & Irish Tours!

I agree, but i also do understand what hes talking about. When i was a bit younger i had a 6L6 combo (peavy deuce  ) and kept buying effects while searching for 'the' sound.

I still play a bunch of effect trough a clean amp, just for the versatility of that setup. Dont underestimate the importance of that......

As far as i can read your pretty close to getting your stuff together, if your looking for that vintage rock sound, do try out one of those old jcm800/900's. When they are unmodded and used in the right way you will probably get a better sound then with those fake(sorry) plexis and youll have a way more versatile setup for the same money imho.
