Best pickup choice, for ultra death metal riffing!!
« on: November 03, 2007, 10:16:05 AM »
Hi everybody!

I m planning to buy a bridge pickup for my custom made Warlock, with mahogany body, maple neck and ebony fretboard. Floyd Rose incorporated.

My main goal is to achieve a weapon of massive destruction, I will use it for Death Metal chunk and riffing, modern death metal vibe, but with an organic sound on it.

I downtune my guitar to B, and my amplifier is a Bogner Uberschall.

Iīd like a huge but tight bass response, with an evil and mean sound. But also  i need to compensate the nature of the wood and the Uberīs monster lows! So i think maybe a little bright pickup may fit well, but man, i adore lows and grind!

With all this info, which pickup whould you recommend me?

Thanks in advance!!!

Warpig was 1 of my doubts, but...

Ceramic or Alnico?

Will get well with the mahogany and the uber?

Any more suggestions?

Thnx!

The ceramic one is tighter and brighter. The Alnico one is more organic. I think, in your case you should go with ceramic.

That would be me. 23k with double screw pole for more low end

However, I also have a pig and c-pig, and I say C-Pig. The MM is too refined and smooth for DM. The C-Pig is perfect.

more importantly, if you're dissatisfied with it, and for some insane reason you don't swap it for something else from Tim, I could take it off your hands! :D
