Well, to cut a long story short, I've managed to knock the jack on my AV3, and it's slipped inside. Am I stuffed, or, when I (get someone to) change the pickups, will it be possible to sort it then. [At the moment, I'm just not plugging it in]

From what I can tell, the output jack of the guitar has been pushed inside the body.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. It's a semi-acoustic, and the jack is sitting inside the body.

And, alas, I don't know anybody in a school science lab...

Semi as in 335 type or as in acoustic with a pickup?

Dont recognise the code AV3

If it is an acoustic then you can stick a knitting needle or long chopstick through the hole and thread the jack onto it and wiggle it back out through the hole.

If it is an f hole guitar then a simiar cuning plan is required to get the jack back in place .

I often use a 5mm allen key that has a ball on the end to thread through the socket and feed it back through the hole. then I can feed the nut and washer back into place while the jack is held steady by the allen key

It's the 335 copy from Vintage - in their Advance range. I started to worry that I'd come down with dyslexia and mangeled the code, so I looked it up on their website.
Thanks for the advice, by the way. I'm planning on putting some PG Blues in them soon(ish) so I'll ask the guy who fits them to do it. And, if he acts like I'm asking for a stoat (in a bun, with chips) then I'll have to have a go myself. I've got an allen key somewhere...

Do yourself a favour..........

If you're going to stick PG blues into that guitar, gut the wiring at the same time as it'll be lousy Chinese stock wiring made out of the cheapest of all cheap components.

I'm rebuilding my Washburn 335 at the moment with new humbuckers, and a full Historic spec wiring loom. Pics to follow hopefully in a few days
