The Kahler flatmount trem whilst very good is not a Floyd
They more than any other trem were accused of robbing tone and sustain if poorly fitted.
I do wonder how many of the players suggesting them have actually had a guitar with one on ( the "if its good enough for Kerry King" arguement does not count as personal experience)

As far as Floyds go there are only about 3 worth looking at
1) Floyd Rose Original - still the best IMO
2) Ibanez Edge/Lo-pro Edge
3) Gotoh Floyd Licensed unit

I dont know what you mean about the Trev Wilkinson stuff
Trev is nothing short of a genius and this industry owes him a lot for his work

If you mean the cheap Floyd that the Maverick company went with to keep costs down - that is not down to Trev himself but rather due to the limitations of cost that were imposed to sell the Maverick guitars at a certain price point.

There are some shims available to alter the radius of the Floyd original to a flatter radius if need be
I'm on about the piece of cr@p that was attached to my Vintage Metal Axxe. Perhaps his other floyds are good but that one was just awful...
I too use chicken as a measurement.

OFR, by far.

The edge is nice but tonally it's a bit weak compared to the OFR, stays in tune well though but so does the OFR.

The ZR trem's are really good fairly expensive though.

The OFR Schaller Floyd, or Gotoh Floyd's are really good trems...

Gotoh's can be bought from WD music, allparts who also sell te schaller FR, as do touchstone tonewoods...

I think the Edge's main weak point is it's alloy (or maybe zinc) block. I'm surprised there aren't any 3rd party brass or steel replacements available like there are for OFRs.

there is somewhere selling them taken off ibanez guitars... but for it to fit you'd have to re-route your guitar. it's not a standard sized bridge, and it doesn't use a standard pivot mechanism

better. lol.
It's incredible if you want a do-everything super-bridge, that feels perfect and NEVER loses tune.

The downside is that it's insanely technical (even more so than a regular floyd) - an engineering masterpiece, but it can take a while to set up after a string guage change or a change of tuning.

And sorry for my mistake: Knowed.... should be knew... I worked all night long and didn't sleep, sum it to I'm not the smartest guy in the world = freak slow motion

Huuummmmm looks like I'll have to try someday this bridge... I don't like F.R. because it's a pain in the ass to change strings and when it brakes, but.... I like the noises that it does  :D

As I know, you can order it directly from Ibanez: https://cs.hoshinogakki.co.jp/i-public/faces/Login00.jsp or from here: http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm#Parts The latter is in the US.

Ok- the same point about price applies - but only more so !
Suspect that Trev has had to put his name to something that he had no real input onbecause of his ongoing involvement with JHS and their Vintage guitar range

The Original Floyd Rose is by far the best (which is why we stock them)

Well it was all branded as his stuff...
I'd still feel more comfortable only going for the Wilkinson bridge than another WilkoFloyd.
If OFR are better than Gotoh that's some pretty amazing stuff though. I am, however, not in any position to replace my Gotoh without seriously re-doing the route (The Maverick/Gotoh bridges have a different position for the allen screws; the Maverick is more like an Ibanez EDGE, that keep the strings in place meaning that it's not as long as an OFR. Anyway I love the shorter arm on the mavericks; it feels almost like a strat in that it gives more resistance than other Floyds.) I think I wouldn't be jumping for joy if I went for a more conventional 'spongy' one. When it wears out (it's been going strong since at least 2003) I know where I can get the replacement easily.
I too use chicken as a measurement.
