REQUEST: Mississippi Queen -> clean clips!

I'm rather suprised that there aren't any decent clean clips from the MQ available....for a P-90 you'd expect at least some lovely clean clips! Doesn't anybody like them or something?

If you have some MQ's -> please post some sound clips!

Regards.

A couple of different sounds here. I can't check, but I'm pretty sure one of the clips on this post was a clean one. All using the MQ.

That user, CaffeineJunkie, also has one or two other posts with an MQ. Tapped, I think.

Check it out  ;)

Thanks for posting.

I like the clean sound trough the Champion 600 and a Jensen C12N and 1.mp3 from CaffeineJunkie the most...that's definately where I'm looking for.

Is that a standard Mississippi Queen?

Isn't the MQ just a BKP90, I'm sure there are a lot of good demo's out there of those. There was an American Luthier video which was very inclusive I seem to remember

Nope. The MQ is (I believe) hotter than the BKP90, 91 and 92 so you can't really say that one sounds like the other. (I think my neck MQ is wound at 16k)...

They're in the same general ballpark, but one of them is at home base while the others are sitting on second  :P

On the specs page - MQ :

DC: 7.9/7k* (bridge/neck)
Bridge Magnet: Alnico V

BKP 91 (closest match at first look) :

Alnico V magnets with slightly hotter than stock windings. The brighter magnet along with extra windings serve up hot and fat single coil grind - more weight in the mid range with excellent top end detail.
DC: 7.8k*

how the hell did you get to 16 lol :? the nailbomb?

Standard calibrated MQ-set: 7k neck (alnico IV), 7,9k bridge (alnico V). I only wanted to hear the MQ neck pickup, because that's the one I'll put in my Les Paul. It's definately not rated 16K or you must have ordered a custom wound MQ that will quickly turn into mush if that's what you like  :)

Do you think the MQ neck would be nice?

I've never found a volume balance problem between the Mule (which must be roughly the same as the burstbucker) and the Mississippi Queen.  The middle sound is so Peter Green, you'd cry.  If you want one to balance, tell Tim the ballpark 'k' of burstbucker and he'll make it as you want.

If it's true about the middle sound I would definately cry like a baby!

FORGIVE ME! I was tired and I was at work when I posted it. I'm also mentally feeble in more ways than I care to discuss!

But as for HOW I got 16k? Here, LoL. A little mis-print...
