BTW - Noodle- how many pre-factory PRS have you played on - or are you just quoting what you have heard on the net?

Only 2, one of them belonging to my guitar teacher - And that's a bit unfair actually, since everyone I've spoken to that's played it, including Doug from BM, say it's one of the best guitars they've ever played.
My last FM.
ESP Horizon NTII.
ESP Viper Camo.

Thats cool !

They are very nice if you get a good one.... Doug has had a couple of artist models that are nice as well

I only asked because on internet forums people tend to quote or repeat stuff they have read or heard without ever having experienced it firsthand.

You know the kind of stuff - someone talking about the good and bad points of pre-CBS strats and saying stuff as gospel (and telling others that they are wrong) and then you find out that they are 14 and have never played a Fender other than their mate's Squier strat.

If I wasn't a guitar builder I would probably love a Private Stock PRS to be fair....
And you would need to be a millionnaire! Those are really too expensive...minimum price is at about 25 000 euros. And there is no limit..Btw,i did play with some (2) pre-factory PRS and i'm not sure if they were "better" ...they did feel different and looked a bit different (the carving was more pronounced etc..) but i couldn't say if they were better.PS:i'm only talking about the original design Custom here...

Just been looking at the Mira and the cheapest around are shy of £1100 in the UK and dealers in the US are less then $1500.

How much does the shipping cost from the USA. The street price is $1500 @ £750 at the current exchange rate. Why is there such a difference in price?

you'd have to pay shipping but also import duty and VAT around 27% on top of your price plus delivery and if you take that into consideration and risk of shipping from US (you never know what might happen). Its pushing it a bit for an instrument you don't even get to play before buying.  :x

that's not actually that much of a price difference, at least compared to mesas and the like- i'd wager with that amount of price difference, it's not worth it- customs and shipping are liable to bring it up to at least the £1000 mark.
