Fist Fight (Nailbomb Sample)

This is a rough and ready demo of my completed pickguard refurbishment project (http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10576)

The setup is Charvel ST Custom > DigiTech GNX3 FX > Orange GRO100 > Marshall 4x12 > Samson Q-Mic > Cakewalk Home Studio DAW.  Some of the clean part and the outro were played straight into the frot of the Orange.

I tried to keep the FX to a minimum, and I tried a few combinations of pickups - I installed a Schaller Megaswitch, and tried to include as many different tones as I could.

Everything is pretty loud giving that it's a home setup - I can hear the neighbours raising a petition as I write this...

Hope you like it.

Mark.

like the playing and tone, what p/ups are you using for the guitars? I love the sound of that orange.

Please put the name of the pickup you used in the title of the thread. (Check the 'Read This Before Posting' sticky in this forum if you need clarification)

Yeah, they really do suit the Orange nicely, particularly clean (the amp has no overdrive).  Really sweet vintage tone.

Great tone dude!! I really love it!
I wish women were like pickups - if they lack output, you sell them... or ask Tim to rewind them :D

Thanks guys.  I think that I'm starting to LOVE the cleans sound, straight into the front of Mr Orange.

Do you guys find that it goes in cycles?  Some days it can be OD/Grunge all the way, but sometimes it's nothing but deep and clean?

Or is that just me?

Yeah it definatly circles, some days i just know im going to trash till my fingers bleed and other days i just sit there in front of the amp like an old man plucking strings and doing the bluesy walks.

Your clip is definately in my top 5 BKP clips, even my wife agrees this it exeptionally good, and she definately is not easily giving compliments.......

The playing is extraordinary, the sound isn't.  The clean sounds better than the distorted parts. Overall good clip though.

I agree with half of that statement - the overdrive and distortion were generated by my DigiTech modelling pedal.  OK for getting quick, OK-ish sounds, but not what I was really after.

Have a listen to the other clip I have on here - the GNX3 has been ditched and I'm playing through a Blackstar HT-Dual as a preamp - I think that the tone is getting there, if not the playing.
