Buying First Set
« on: December 18, 2007, 08:43:54 PM »
Righteo. My first set of BKs, which I want to be a good.. start to buying them (I know I'll be buying more, I just know it.. :P)

Excuse my lack of terminology.

I play metal, and sometimes clean I guess but that would mostly be only a section of a song. I palm mute a lot and like the leads of songs, so I'm thinking at least a Warpig (Ceramic?, A5?) for one humbucker and some other pickup.

Please help. Once I get an answer I'm gonna be ordering in about an hour, lol..

I like stuff like - All Shall Perish, http://www.myspace.com/allshallperish if that helps in any way.

Its a common metal set, with the cold sweat having good cleans from what is in the players section.
for when Ben chips in, you may want to describe your current gear and what guitar woods etc to get the best choice

I have an Indie guitar, it's maple and well.. yeah, anything else just ask.
I'm playing through a VOX AD30VT.

My plan is to get the new 2008 S Series when they come out, so they'll be Mahogany (I think)

I always thought ceramic Warpigs were good. And do calibrated sets do any justice? Or is it better to .. be creative?

Plus how do you get 'camo' for Warpigs? And could I get them with allen bolts?

EDIT: Actually, after searching even more on Cold Sweats and Warpigs together I think I'll get those.

All I need are the answers to the cosmetic side of them.

Warpig covers are camo as standard  ;)   Cold Sweat cover would have to be custom ordered to be camo too, if that's what you wanted.

Or you can get them both open coil  :P

Well, if you're ordering them soon, congrats! You just did your guitar a HUGE favor   8)
BKP guitars:
Epiphone Dot Studio (NB bridge, MQ neck)
Gibson LP Studio (MM bridge, CS neck)

miracle man and painkiller will do a great job
but it sounds more like a ceramic pig

i think they recorded with a peavey rockmaster preamp (i have one) through marshall power amps
you should try a rockmaster
it's very cheap on ebay and it's wonderful for thrash, death metal
it has the tighter tube distortion i've played (tighter than my framus cobra too)
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

Put it in the options box, or better still, order them by phone. That way you can talk with Tim himself and make sure every last detail is as you want it.
