ES 339 copy/clones?
« on: January 03, 2008, 10:22:49 AM »
Does anyone know of a company that makes a copy/clone of the new es339 or similar?

I really like the 339 but its pricey. is there a epiphone version on the way or a Jap version around?

I'd like to get a MQ or PG bluesy sound but find the 335 bodies a bit too large.

I don't know of any new 339-types, but back in the 80s Ibanez had the AM series:

You sometimes see them on eBay, at various prices.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Been reading the posts on the OD pedals -> Blackstar pedals, and came across a company called Vintage on the webspage that sold the blackstar pedals. The website i found them on led me to demo clips and reviews by all the major magazines, 'Guitarist' etc and they were really raving about how good Vintage guitars are and how good value they were.

I came accros this "VintageAV3Series". Basically a 335 type copy but in the LP size like the 339. The reviews all seem to rav on about them. Has anyone tried Vintage guitars?
Thx

I think most people on here will have tried one of their models. I've tried a few myself including LP, strat, and tele copies. All of which were fantastic guitars for the money, with a fit and finish to rival far more expensive competitors. Obviously all the hardware is of a very high quality and is all deisnged by Trev Wilkinson (as are the guitars themselves i believe).
I have not tried the Advance series but i would happily hazard a guess that they would be of an even higher quality than the standard models.
LOVING the Mules!

Those AV's look to be tremendous value and also appear to be of a very high construction standard.

The AV3 in particular looks to be very interesting indeed ...

Oh no ....... I want one
